National Day of the Cowboy at Goldfield Ghost Town

Saturday July 25, 2009

In 2005, the United States Senate passed a Resolution proclaiming what we in Goldfield have believed all along – that the American Cowboy is a National Icon. Introduced by Wyoming Senator Craig Thomas, Senate Resolution #138 officially sets aside the 4th Saturday in each July as a day “Honoring the many contributions of t hose known as Cowboys and Cowgirls to our National Identity and Way of Life.”

No one takes this Proclamation more seriously then the cities here in NE Pinal County, Arizona who host the largest regional National Day of the Cowboy celebrations in the Country! We are especially proud that Goldfield’s “1890’s Cow Town Festival” acts as the centerpiece to the events coordinated in nearby Gold Canyon, Superior and Florence.

We invite each of you to come celebrate with us on Saturday, July 25th. Gates open at 8:00am and the fun goes on until 5:00pm.
